21/11/2020: Sister churches, brother peoples: the Templar Nation supports WoPeace; religions can become the best instrument of union, fraternity and peace
President Riccardo Bonsi announced that the Templar Nation will support the proposals of WoPeace, the independent, apolitical and non-denominational international institution – based in Brussels (Belgium) – which works for peace, prevention and resolution of conflicts in the world .
Founded by René Ducret, WoPeace collaborates with states, religions and international organizations to promote peace in the world, an essential starting point for serenity and economic prosperity.
WoPeace rightly states that religions must unite to promote a new era of peace and must become a wonderful tool of communication and dialogue, of rapprochement and brotherhood between peoples.
The only missing ingredient is knowledge of religions, says WoPeace, which intends to start, with the help of all religious communities, a great movement of knowledge of religions.
It is only by knowing the great affinities that exist between religions that it will be possible to achieve a true “social ecumenism” dictated by their great common values.
Living in peace does not mean losing one’s traditions and denying one’s origins, but it means understanding those of others and living with them, without ever being overwhelmed by them.
The President of the Templar Nation Riccardo Bonsi declared:
“As proposed by WoPeace, I launch a solemn appeal to the monotheistic religions and to the international organizations that are inspired by them, so that an interreligious dialogue is spread at all levels, with the aim of spreading a vision of the world based on respect and understanding and on mutual help, without ever having to deny one’s origins, culture and traditions.
For these reasons, I intend to meet Pope Francis to ask for his blessing and support for this initiative launched by WoPeace and supported by the Templar Nation”.
