HON. ANTONIO AWANA GANA COSTANTINI PICARDI
Antonio Awana Gana Costantini Picardi was born in Venice (Italy) on 16/07/1949.
Internationally renowned Musician, radio and television host, he is also an actor, singer, author and journalist.
In 1972 he began his adventure in “Radio Monte Carlo” as an animator and speaker, an adventure that will end twenty years later, in 1992.
In 1977 he conducted “Discoring”, a musical transmission of “Rai 1”.
In 1978 he conducted the famous Sunday entertainment program “Domenica In” on “Rai 1” and, in the same year, he directed the musical event “Rally Canoro” in the squares of Italy.
In these years he also conducted the broadcasts, again for “Rai 1”, “La Gondola d’Oro” (Eurovision) and “Italiani nel Mondo”.
In 1980 he was the leading actor in the film “White Pop Jesus” by Luigi Petrini and, in the same year, he recorded the album “Come un navigante”.
In 1993 he entered in the “Order of Italian journalists”.
In 1994 he received the “Leone d ‘Oro” for Venice in the World.
In 1995 he conducted the transmission “Fanzine” on “Italia 1”.
He worked as radio host in several Italian and foreign radio stations: “Radio Dimensione Suono” (with the “Faro della Notte” program), “Radio 2” (with Lino Banfi in “W la radio”), “Radio Nonsolomusica” (“W La Notte W”), “Radio Sabbia”, “Radio Gold”, “Radio Torino International” and, in France, “Radio Fun”.
In 1998 he released the album “Ambaradan”.
In 1999 he was a guest on the program “Al posto tuo” on “Rai 2” and, in the same year, he began collaborating with “MC Sat”.
In 2001 he was animator and speaker at “Traffic FM” (France) and, in the same year, he played the character of Walter Perla, alongside Lino Banfi, in the television series on “Rai 1” “Angelo il custode”.
In 2003 he directed “Noche Flamenca”, in the roman amphitheater of Cagliari (Italy).
In 2004 he was artistic director of the “Monte-Carlo Rock” event.
In 2005 he became a member of the “C.E.J. – Communauté Européenne des Journalistes”.
In 2006 he was showman of the evening “Amitié Sans Frontières” in the Principality of Monaco.
In 2007 he began working as a guest with “Rai 2” in the program “Quelli che il calcio”, directed by Simona Ventura and Max Giusti.
In 2009 he was one of the TV presenters of the 24-hour broadcast “Telethon”, on “Rai 1”.
In 2011 he presented “Canzonissima Monte-Carlo 2011”, closed the evening “AAIM”, at the Hermitage Hotel in Montecarlo (Principality of Monaco) and, again in the same year, he took part in “Avanti un altro”, on “Canale 5”, broadcast conducted by Paolo Bonolis.
In 2012 he received the “REA Award – National Award for Music and Information” at the Palafiori in Sanremo (Italy) and received the “Italian Embassy Culture Award” (Principality of Monaco).
In 2013 he was appointed Knight of the Principality of Monaco and joined the “V.E.O.S.P.S.S. – Pauperes Commilitones Christi Templique Salomonis”, the famous Order of the Templars.
In 2014 he was appointed Ambassador at Large of “V.E.O.S.P.S.S. – Pauperes Commilitones Christi Templique Salomonis”.
Also in 2014 he was the artistic director of “La Milano-Sanremo della Canzone Italiana”, a singing event organized by the “REA”.
In 2014 he is repeated guest of the program “Uno mattina in famiglia” on “Rai 1”, conducted by Tiberio Timperi.
Still in 2014 he received the “Oscar della Radio – Dj sotto le stelle” award.
In 2016 he was elected Vice President and Artistic Director of “Flying Music”.
Chansonnier and internationally renowned guitarist, in 2018 returned with the musical-theater show “La gigante e il bambino”, together with the young singer and musician Erika Piras, enjoying an incredible success.
Also in 2018 he was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Templar Nation.
