26-02-2022: Russia – Ukraine war, the analysis and condemnation of President Bonsi
Templar Nation President Bonsi is following the Russian invasion of Ukraine with apprehension.
Today he released an official statement on the conflict.
«The tension between Russia and Ukraine has distant origins, since 2014 with the annexation of Crimea to federal Russia. The requests for independence from Ukraine by the Republic of Donetsk and the Republic of Lugansk, also in 2014, further worsened relations between the two States. Since we are convinced supporters of the right of peoples to self-determination, as long as it has solid historical, cultural, ideological and ethnic foundations, until Russia supported legitimate demands for independence, nothing to say, but today President Putin has exaggerated. The excuse of protecting the two pro-independence republics immediately proved false when Russia militarily invaded Ukraine and this act is neither excusable nor acceptable. Ukraine is a free country and must remain so, and for this reason we strongly and firmly condemn this military invasion. We have always looked with interest at the way in which President Putin has led Russia into a new economic era, made up of international trade and an open economy, but now this behavior is the sign of a dictatorial oligarchy whose main objective is to rebuild the old Soviet Union. This is unacceptable and represents a sad moment of cultural involution for Russia. For our part, we express our total solidarity with the Ukrainian people and we will do everything we can to help and support them».
