24/02/2019: The currency of the Templar Nation was created, it is called Ruad
On Saturday 24 February, the Minister of the Treasury, Marco Guzzardi, officially presented the new currency of the Templar Nation.
The currency is called Ruad; the name derives from the small Syrian island of Arwad (reads Aruad, also known as Ruad) which was the last stronghold defended by the Templars.
In fact, the island fell in 1303, effectively marking the end of the crusades.
The coin, which for now have a numismatic collectible value, is presented in the values of 0.50 Ruad, 1 Ruad and 2 Ruad.
The front of the coins is the same for all three values, while the back change: in the 0.50 Ruad coin is the face of Jacques de Molay, in that of 1 Ruad is the face of St. Bernard of Clairvaux, while in the 2 Ruad one is the Templar lamb.
