21/01/2019: Adhesion to the Vienna Convention on the Laws of the Treaties of 1969 of the Templar Nation
Saturday, On Monday 21 January 2019 the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Costantini Picardi, sent an official letter to the Secretary General of the United Nations in New York, in which he announced that the Templar Nation has adhered to the Vienna Convention on the Laws of the Treaties, drawn up by the United Nations on May 23, 1969.
The Convention is an international treaty concerning customary international law (or unwritten), in particular with regard to treaties between States; it deals with the formation of the treaties, their validity and their effectiveness.
The text of the 1969 Vienna Convention can be likened to a real code: it is divided into 8 parts, each in turn divided into sections.
One of the fundamental and inspiring principles of the Vienna Convention is that of “pacta sunt servanda”, (Article 26): pacts, treaties, agreements or, more generally, the agreements of the States must be respected and “Every treaty in force binds the parties and must be executed by them in good faith”.
To read the Convention go to the “Documents” section.
