08/12/2019: President Bonsi writes an official letter to the Albanian President for the recent earthquake
The President of the Templar Nation Bonsi has written an official letter to the Albanian President Ilir Rexep Meta.
In the letter, the President expressed closeness to the Albanian people, especially to those who had victims and wounded following the terrible earthquake that devastated Albania.
The toll of 50 dead and 2000 wounded is devastating.
Now Albania must concentrate on reconstruction, while the emergence of thousands of displaced people, many of whom are still housed in school gyms, despite the availability of several hotels on the coast to host them, remains to be managed.
The 6.4 magnitude earthquake that shook Durrës and Thumane at four o’clock in the morning on November 28 last damaged about 1200 buildings, while another 265 have yet to be examined by experts.
“I am particularly close to the Albanian people and, above all, to that of Durrës” – says President Bonsi – “also because for several years I have been in close contact with this splendid city, in the days when the dear friend Arqile Gorea was Mayor“.
The former Mayor of Durrës, a member of the center-right “Democratic Party of Albania”, commented in these days, interviewed by the Albanian television “RTV Ora News”, that in this tragic moment “It is not the time to to do politics, or to hurry to find the culprits, but it is time to get out of this situation with concrete acts.
This crisis requires a solution through specialized structures, therefore it requires the maximum mobilization of the powers and potential of the community to solve this great problem“.
